Maldives Research Network conference 2014

The Maldives Research Network (MRN) Conference 2014 on social, economic and environmental research will be held on Saturday 29 March 2014 at Bandos Island Resort in Kaafu Atoll, Maldives. The conference theme is “Sustaining Development Amid Change”.  This ENDEVOR (Maldives) Conference brings together academicians, professionals, and policy officials of the Maldives government to share the latest research findings on Maldives and discuss their impact on the Maldivian society. MRN is the research arm of ENDEVOR (Maldives) which aims to facilitate local research and promote academic, civil, and policy dialogue to link research findings to national policy across a wide spate of government sectors. ENDEVOR (Maldives) is a nonprofit organization established in Maldives, dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of the Maldivian people in a globalizing world.

Conference scope:

The Maldives Research Network (MRN) conference invites submission of Research Papers/Articles from the full range of economic, environmental and social issue dimensions. Topics ranging from health, education, fiscal and monetary policy, climate change etc are welcome. All the Research Papers/Articles/abstracts must address to an issue/research question related to the Maldives.

The Maldives Research Network (MRN) conference encourages discussion on topics of research-in-progress. For those who cannot submit full papers, they are open to present their latest findings at the conference if their abstracts are accepted; however, in these cases only the peer reviewed abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings.

Stakeholders -- such as policy level individuals, students, news reporters without papers/abstracts for presentation -- will also be invited to participate as attendees of the conference.


Submission guidelines:

Submit full paper/abstract (in MS Word) via email or post as indicated below to:

Full papers/abstracts received by the deadline will be (double-blind) peer-reviewed by an internal panel on a rolling basis, with the notification of acceptance/rejection being issued within 14 days of receiving the submission.

In case your paper/abstract is multi-authored, the submitting author will serve as the corresponding author, who has the responsibility to forward all correspondences to his/her co-authors (e.g., acceptance/rejection emails).


Publication opportunities:

Publication at the Maldives Research Network (MRN) conference Proceedings: Full papers/abstracts accepted for the conference will be published at the MRN conference paper, for circulation.

Important Dates:

  • Deadline for submission of paper/abstract: 28 February 2014
  • Notification of acceptance/rejection of the paper: Within 10 days of receiving the paper/abstract
  • Deadline for registration: 15 March 2014
  • Conference date: 29 March 2014

 

 

Participation is free. For each paper/abstract, at least one author must attend. Request for relevant policy/technical personnel’s will be sent depending on specific papers presented to enrich the discussion.
